Can I have moorings at your site? Moorings are reserved for members of the Association, although we do try and accommodate vessels from affiliate organisations (eg AWCC) on a short term basis.
What do moorings / membership cost? There is a fee for both moorings and membership. Mooring fees are determined by the length of a member's craft and the cost to become a member is a very reasonable £10 per year.
We aim to keep our moorings as inexpensive as possible and as an Association do most works and improvements together as volunteers. From landscaping to repairs, and site development to administration, everything relies on members rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.
What facilities are available? We currently have over 500ft of secure, online moorings, with hard standing available for cars. We can also provide members with facilities for coal, gas, pump out and telephone connection. In the future we hope to establish electricity, a full toilet and shower block and a clubhouse on our site.
Secure car parking
Multiple water points
Cassette disposal and pump out
Gas cylinder storage
Considerable green / gardening space
Train station and town centre only 10 minutes walk via towpath
What kind of activities do members undertake? The Association has regular work parties for site maintenance, repairs and development. Over the years this has included plumbing, fencing, concreting and small construction projects.
We also organise social functions (eg on Bonfire Night and Christmas), which also rely on everyone mucking in, but are always great fun!
